The “Down Dog” combined with a hip opener is a wonderful way to warm up as we begin a physical yoga practice … it gives us the benefits of inverting the body which includes stimulating the hormone producing glands in the brain bringing hormone secretions into balance; improving circulation in the body; improving immunity via easier movement of lymph into the respiratory system; improved mental energy with extra movement of blood and oxygen to the brain; improved balance and core strength; and improved self confidence.
